Log Menu

Menu for checking the log of the BMS.

Log menu (click on a menu item to go to a description of that item):

An event is added to the log whenever the BMS detects a fault. Up to 24 events may be recorded, after which the oldest event is overwritten with the new event.

To scan the log, press the '<' or '>' or Enter keys.

For the selected event, this screen displays the following:

Event anchor
  • The event number
  • The cause of this event:
    • Driving off while plugged in
    • Interlock is tripped
    • Communication fault with a bank or cell
    • Charge overcurrent
    • Discharge overcurrent
    • Over-temperature fault
    • Under voltage
    • Over voltage
    • No battery voltage
    • High voltage B- leak to chassis
    • High voltage B+ leak to chassis
    • Contactor K1 shorted
    • Contactor K2 is shorted
    • Contactor K3 shorted
    • No precharge
    • Open K2
    • Excessive precharge time
    • EEPROM stack overflow
Time anchor
  • The number of the power-up cycle (how may times the BMS was powered up, since its manufacture)
  • The power up time in this power cycle, in seconds, when the fault occurred
Inputs anchor
  • Source current at the time, in A, including direction
  • Load current at the time, in A, including direction
  • Whether the BMS was powered through its SOURCE input
  • Whether the BMS was powered through its LOAD input
  • Whether the interlock input was abnormal at the time
  • Whether the Contactor Request input line was active at the time
  • Whether there was a Contactor Request on the CAN bus at the time
Outputs anchor
  • Whether the HLIM (High Limit) logic output was active at the time
  • Whether the LLIM (Low Limit) logic output was active at the time
  • Whether the FAN output was driven on at the time
  • The CCL (Charge Current Limit) level at the time, from 0% (no charging allowed) to 100 % (full charging allowed)
  • The DCL (Discharge Current Limit) level at the time, from 0% (no discharging allowed) to 100 % (full discharging allowed)
  • The state of the relay (contactor) drive at the time
Pack anchor
  • The pack's SOC (State Of Charge) at the time, 0% (Empty) to 100 % (full)
  • The pack's voltage at the time, in Volts
  • The number of banks that were not reporting at the time, and the number of one of the missing banks
  • The number of cells that were not reporting at the time, and the number of one of the missing cells
Cells anchor
  • The range of cell voltages at the time, and the number of the most discharged and most charged cells, in Volts
  • The range of cell-board temperatures at the time, and the number of the coldest and hottest cell-boards, in Degrees Celsius
  • The numbers of loads that were on at the time
