Bank is missing; all cell boards blink
If all cell boards blink, the problem is between the negative end board and the BMS controller.

Procedure
- Check that the BMS controller does expect to see a bank there
- On the terminal, do Home / Set-up / More... / Battery arrangement / Number of cells in each bank / Set manually
-
Use the '>' or '<' keys to go to that bank
- If the number of cells in that bank is 0, that's the problem, or at least part of the problem
- Enter the number of cells in series in that bank and press Enter
- If the problem persists, then the problem is that that bank is not communicating: proceed as below
- Check that the bank connector (5 pin) is fully seated in the BMS controller
- Check that the cell board on the most negative end of the bank is actually a negative end board
- There is a black dot somewhere on the side of the PCB without components
- On the component side, component OC2 is stuffed, and OC1 is not
- Check for proper wiring:
- The white wire goes to pin 5 on the 5-pin connector
- The white wire goes to the round pad on the cell board (pin 2 of a 2-pin connector, if used)
- The green wire goes to pin 4 on the 5-pin connector
- The green wire goes to the square pad on the cell board (pin 1 of a 2-pin connector, if used - there's a small triangle embossed on the connector housing)
- Check that the green and white wires between the BMS controller and the positive end board are OK
- Visually
- By tugging on them
- With an ohmeter
-
If the communication line between the BMS controller and the cell boards is particularly long (> 2 meters), and only the high numbered banks are missing (such as bank 15):
- Update the software to the latest revision
- If that doesn't solve it, replace a Rev B or C controller with a higher rev controller
- Measure the complete receive path, through the cable and an LED in the positive end board
- Disconnect the bank connector from the BMS controller
- Set a Multimeter in the CONTINUITY position (best if it beeps)
- Make sure the meter works: touch the probes together and check that you see a short circuit
- On the flat side of the 5-pin connector, connect one probe through the small hole, to the socket to which the green wire is crimped
- Connect the other probe to the socket to which the white wire is crimped
- If you see a short circuit:
- Disconnect the 2-pin connector from the negative end board (if no connector, disconnect either the white or green wire)
- See is the short is on the negative end board or across the green and white wires
- If on the cell board, look for a solder bridge across the 2-pin connector; otherwise, replace the board
- If across the green and white wires, find the short
- If you see an open circuit:
- See if there's continuity along the green wire
- On the flat side of the 5-pin connector, connect one probe through the small hole, to the socket to which the green wire is crimped
- On the cell board, connect to the square pad with the green wire (if no connector) or to the connector lead soldered to the square pad (right angle connector), or the crimp terminal (with a straight connector)
- If no continuity, check for:
- Broken wire
- Bad crimp
- Crimp on the insulation
- Bad solder joint
- See if there's continuity along the white wire (same as above, but on the round pad)
